This episode was an Alicia/ Charlie episode so no other cast members. This is a recap of the first 30 minutes of s4 ep10 and I transcribed the dialog so have fun reading this extra long post with some visuals.
We start the episode with the normal search of the house
One male walker found in the kitchen easily killed. Then we have these two females killed and one final male killed in the living room after these two.
We then see her throw the walkers outside into the rain
We then see her staring at a photo of the family in the exact same positions as she put them out on the front lawn.
She knocks the photo off the mantle and proceeds to clean that weapon
Next, she has a towel and is drying off. She looks over and sees family photos. Takes them off the wall and puts them in a laundry basket which she throws out onto the lawn with the dead walkers
When she comes back in she finds out the door was busted and heads to the basement to find tools. Down there she finds out the basement is flooding from the storm.
Back upstairs we get the see Alicia demonstrating that she knows how to use a hammer properly this time.
Door fixed its dinner time. She grabs two cans and sits down at the table. Oops forget the silverware so to the kitchen we go. While rummaging around in the drawers she hears a noise that sounds like a walker roaming upstairs.
Up we go where she enters a bedroom and can hear a walker outside. Pulls back the curtain and there is a walker impaled on a tree branch.
This bedroom is where we get those pictures of ADC backlit by the window.
Anyway, Alicia is like “whoever is in here get the hell out or I’ll kill you. You got one chance. Okay, I just wanted to be left alone. You should have left me alone.”
Out pops Charlie
A wrestling match on the floor and Charlie gets away to hide in one of the bedrooms.
Alicia: Why are you here? Did you follow me? You can’t be here.
Next thing we see is Alicia grabbing her coat, supplies and walking out. She heads for a car and she is fighting with the door. Then a gust of wind and she gets knocked down and hits her head on a rock.
When we return Alicia is laying on the floor in the living room waking up. Looks around the room and sees her weapon and grabs it to head upstairs.
Banging on the door
Alicia: Why did you bring me back here? Why did you do that? I know you are in there. Why won’t you just say something?
Yep Charlie is in there looking scared
Alicia: All right, if you’re not going to talk, then listen. My mom dies saving me. Saving Nick, saving everyone. Because you led Mel and Ennis to the place we built. Because you lied to us. And then you shot my brother. And I watched him bleed to death. And I couldn’t do anything but watch him die. Watch him realize he was going to die. And it didn’t happen fast. He was aware. He was in pain. He knew you did it. He knew the person he tried to save killed him. And maybe that made him feel like his life didn’t mean anything. I can’t send you out there. But if you’re in this house with me, then I’ll probably kill you. I don’t know if I want to kill you. I just know I probably will.
Cut to Charlie pulling a gun out her bag
Alicia: I’m trying to be like my mom. I’m trying to believe what she believed. Do what she did. Because that’s all I have left of her. That’s the only thing that keeps her alive. And if I k- if I kill you.
Charlie looks at the gun again
Alicia: I won’t let you take that away from me again.
Charlie goes to the door with the gun in her hand
Alicia: You may be a kid Charlie but you know what you did. And that makes you garbage. It makes you a waste of a person. Worse than something stumbling around out there tearing into people. See, I hope you live to a ripe old age so you have to remember what you did. What you did and who you are and how you can never, ever make up for it.
The scene ends with Charlie crying against the door.
We are back and Alicia is breaking a chair for firewood. Storms intensifying and one of the storm shutters is banging around. Alicia runs outside to attempt to nail it shut but the wind is too strong.
Looks out and sees the walkers and uncovers the head of the female. She is pissed Charlie covered them up. Charlie is inside with the pictures Alicia had thrown out in the rain trying to dry them. Charlie stares at a picture of the family on vacation and sniffles.
Alicia walks in: Why did you cover them? Why won’t you say anything? Did you know these people or something? I put them out there for a reason. Come downstairs. Grab your coat.
Outside Alicia has Charlie helping her nail the shutters closed. Oh no, they are making too much noise and attracting walkers. Back in they go without finishing the job.
Now we have walkers on the porch.
Alicia is back trying to get the fire going and says to Charlie to give her her coat so she can dry it. Charlie being the typical kid tries to walk away. Alicia grabs her and yells give me your coat. Charlie then complies.
Once she gives her the coat Alicia finds the gun in the pocket. Looking at the gun
Alicia: Is this the same gun you–
She cocks the gun and holds it to Charlies head
Alicia: I told you, you couldn’t be here. I told you I didn’t want to be around you. Did you come here to kill me? Is that it? Get me before I could get you? Oh, you expect me to believe that? Get out of here. Go
Charlie runs out of the room and Alicia puts the gun in her waistband.
Once again Alicia is trying to get the fireplace working. she is poking around in the chimney and a dead bird (I think) falls out. Alicia looks like she is about to cry
Alicia: I’m sorry. I’ve been trying.
Upstairs Charlie is once again looking at that family’s vacation photos. Charlie then gets up and looks at the walker attached to the tree. She then decides let’s go out on the roof.
Downstairs Alicia is trying to light the fire when a gust of wind blows out her flame. Charlie walks closer to the walker as the tree branch sways back and forth. She then lets the walker grab her and moves closer to let it bite her
In the background, Alicia screams “Charlie” and pulls her back inside
Downstairs they are sitting at a table and Alicia puts the gun on the table
Alicia – This wasn’t for me was it? It was for you. Everyone was telling me all the reasons to keep going. But I think you and I both know that’s not the deal. There are no good reasons. I think you might’ve had the right idea. But that doesn’t mean I’m going to let you do it.
OMG Charlie can talk
Charlie: Why did you save me? Was it because you wanted me to live with it? What I did?
Alicia: I don’t know. But, yeah, you’re gonna have to live with it. You don’t get off the hook that easy. What did you think I was going to say? I saved you because I see something in you? Because I forgive you for what you did to my family? I’m not gonna say that. It’s not true. I can’t help you. So whatever it is you’re looking for, you are not going to get it. Not from me. You have to live with what you have done. Just like I have. Even if all that’s waiting for you on the other end is being out on that porch just like them.
Charlie: How long do you think the storm is going to last?
Alicia; Hell if I know. I’m from California. Get up. We are going to eat.
Scene shifts to Alicia in front of the fire heating two cans of food. Then it shows them eating.
Charlie: Did you live near a beach?
Alicia; Hmm? No
Charlie: You said you were from California.
Alicia: It’s a big state. I lived close enough.
Charlie: what was it like?
Alicia: What does it matter Charlie?
Charlie: It doesn’t
Alicia; You’ve never been have you?
Charlie: To California?
Alicia: To the beach
Charlie; I was supposed to go to Galveston with my mom and dad. We had it all planned. Well, they did. We were going to spend the day on the beach. Go to the boardwalk at night. Maybe even go on a roller coaster at the end of the pier. But then everything changed. And…
Alicia: We all missed out on things, Charlie
Charlie: Sometimes when I am reading, I just like to close my eyes and try to see what I just read. about. But I haven’t been able to find any books about Galveston.
Alicia: The last time I was at a beach, it was just like everywhere else filled with the dead. Just another place that kept you running.
Alicia decides she has had enough of dinner and grabs the plates saying ‘ Go get some sleep”
Charlie then lays down on the couch and goes to sleep
