In honor of @sheis-me recently published second novel, this is a list of Clexa fics that became novels. I did some research and these were the ones I could find. If you know of any that aren’t on this list, please let me know and I will be happy to update. (Note: most of these are no longer available on AO3; I have linked to the amazon page for them)
Stunted by @sheis-me : Originally titled, “The Sex Tape”, follows Lexa the stuntwoman working on a new movie starring Clarke. Sparks instantly fly between the two. After a night of passion, a sex tape of the two is released sending their lives into a panic. They must work to overcome the ensuing press nightmare while trying to figure out their true feelings for each other. This is an immensely enjoyable story. But what isn’t there to love? Lexa on a motorcycle, Raven blowing shit up, top-notch sin, and a refreshingly new plot.
Art of Us by @chrmdpoet : Originally titled “Lover in Low Light”. It has been five years since Clarke and Lexa ended their fairytale romance. They are now back in the same city but with new lives and new loves. Was their love eternal or must they learn to finally move on? This is one of the quintessential Clexa fics. The author shifts between past and present building a narrative of Clarke and Lexa’s romance and juxtaposing it against their current lives. The author expertly creates a prose in which the reader will feel the emotions that Clarke and Lexa experience.
Strangers on the Phone by @commanderbuffy : Same title. Clarke misdials her phone one night and ends up talking to a stranger (hence the title). Little does Clarke know, but the girl on the other line is Lexa, world-renowned singer. Of course, they fall in love but sometimes love isn’t enough. This is a wonderful read with a good balance of fluff and angst. Raven’s backstory adds to the depth of the characters beyond Clarke and Lexa. There is a sequel, Strangers Don’t Write (Love) Letters (available on AO3), that is as good and brings the story full circle.
You’re Fired by @skycrewclarke . Originally titled “You’re Fired (So Yeah You Win)”. Clarke draws Lexa’s name for Secret Santa, not knowing that Lexa is the President of the company where Clarke works. So, of course, Clarke has to get something “unconventional”. Why not? She doesn’t even know who this “Lexa” chick is and everyone loves a gag gift, right? Especially when that gag gift is a dildo. In order not to be fired, Clarke agrees to travel to NYC with Lexa to ensure that Lexa retains control of the company. This is a fun ride with surprisingly funny dialogue and a story that keeps you interested right to the very end.
Lightning Only Strike Once by fiona_249 @clexacomic : Same title. After Lexa dies, a heartbroken Clarke climbs to the top of the tower only to be struck by lightning. When she awakens, she is back on the Ark. Given a second chance to make things right, she sets out to fix all the errors in her past. But most importantly, she must find Lexa. This fic is being turned into a graphic novel that has become a labor of love for those involved. Eliza Taylor is a big supporter of the comic and I am pretty sure ADC also knows that it is in production. I can’t wait to see this final product. Check out their blog for sneak peeks and artwork. It looks fantastic!
The Art of Feeling by Elizabeth Jeannel. I came upon this novel in my research. I am 95% positive this novel was a fic or is based on Clexa (the names are too similar to be a coincidence). Clare Ghimmel moves to Astoria with her father. There she catches the eye of fellow classmate Alexa Woods, a closed down girl who wants nothing but to get out of town. However, all of that disappears the minute she meets Clare. I have not read this but I wanted to put it out there in case others are interested. I reached out to the author but have not heard back.
Something Tragic by @heyjayyay. Same title. When they met, it was not of their own accord. In fact, they probably never would have crossed paths if it wasn’t for the project. They were juniors and Lexa was the quiet, new girl. Having to move in with her uncle, Gustus, after the fire was probably one of the most difficult things she had to ever endure. Tragic, really. Life always seemed to turn out that way for the brunette.
To Have Loved and Lost by Eliza Andrews. Lexa Woods knows who she is – or at least, she thought she did. She’s number 17, point guard, MVP, all-star, co-captain of the Lady Raiders Division 1 women’s basketball team. But there’s a darkness inside of Lexa that’s growing, a darkness that started the night her beloved Costia died in her arms, and if she doesn’t turn things around soon, the darkness just might swallow her whole. Clarke Griffin knows a thing or two about darkness. That’s been her zip code ever since the car accident that took her boyfriend’s life – the car accident she caused. When she meets Lexa, she sees a reflection of her own sorrow. And she can’t help but want to fix it.
